"School's out for summer...." I hope that is true for most of the kids out there now because it is a great time to be up here!!

EVENTS I mentioned it last week, but I am going to write about it again because it is such a fun event. The Tour De Nez will be in North Lake Tahoe and Truckee this weekend with events in Thursday in Truckee and on Thursday Friday and Saturday at Northstar. I know I wrote about this before, but it is a really fun event for the cycling enthusiast, casual rider, and even non rider. Pick up a local paper for a schedule of events or visit http://www.tourdenez.com/.

The Village at Squaw will also be hosting a fine arts festival this weekend (open from 10-5 both Saturday and Sunday). The cable car opens for the summer this weekend as well if that is any more incentive to head out to the valley.

The Rodeo is in town!! Well, in Reno at least. If you want to really experience a night right out of the old west head down to Reno one night during your stay to experience the rodeo. This is really a fun time filled with great spectator events, rides, and of course plenty of BBQ and cotton candy.

Billed as the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West", the Rodeo runs every night in Reno from June 19th - June 28th. Visit their website for more information and event times http://www.renorodeo.com/.

JET SKIING Bentley and his brother Ronnie are renting jet skis to Tonopalo owners and guests for their second summer now and with great rates the jet skis are getting booked fast. So act now if you are interested in reserving some time on these fun toys. Call the Tonopalo front desk for more information. I know you have the number, but here it is again just in case 530-546-6500.

HIKING At this point in the summer the snow is receding rapidly and the trails are in most cases totally clear and accessible. So take advantage...I would almost recommend looking for the snow. Not only will run off keep the dust down, but it just fun to be standing in the snow on an 80 degree day looking down at people playing golf and boating.

My recommendation would be to visit Barker Pass off of highway 89. Going up this road will give you some elevation gain and you can drive directly to the Pacific Crest Trail. This website gives good directions hiking north to Twin Peaks on the PCT or this site gives directions south to Richardson Lake. For a more moderate hike try the hike to Ellis Peak for great views!! Have fun and take plenty of water.

TONOPALO REAL ESTATE Home #8 is still a great opportunity listed at $325,000. Do you know anyone interested in homes at Tonopalo? Now is the time to make an offer! Visit http://www.tonopalosales.com/ for more information on available shares or call me directly.

Do you use Facebook? Come join the group Tonopalo to view and post pictures, tell everyone about your great stay, and keep up with other owners and staff (past and present). Visit the Tonopalo Facebook Group now.

That's it for now. Pass this page on to your friends and bookmark it for yourself! Enjoy your time here and if there is ever anything I can help you with please let me know!
