Come up and Play

It looks like another beautiful weekend is in store for us up here at the lake. Sunny skies and slightly cooler temperatures will make it a great weekend to play outside in the sierras. The hiking, biking and of course boating are all phenomenal right now.

EVENTS San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome will be at Squaw Valley this Friday sharing his views on risk taking in politics with the Squaw Valley Institute. The program will take place at the PlumpJack Conference Center in Squaw Valley starting at 7:00PM. Tickets available online at http://www.squawvalleyinstitute.org/ up to 24 hours before event or at door if space allows. Donation to Squaw Valley Institute requested: $10.00. Children and students with ID are FREE.
North Tahoe Cleanup Day takes place this Saturday the 7th with registration taking place in Tahoe Vista and Kings Beach at 9:00AM. Those interested in cleaning up Kings Beach can register in the conservancy lot next to Enviro Rents at the corner of Hwy 28 and Coon Street; registration for Tahoe Vista and Carnelian Bay is at the Tahoe Vista Rec Area. Maps will be on hand at registration tables to designate clean up areas. All clean up volunteers and participants will receive a blue recycle bag, gloves, Sunflower seeds and a 2008 Clean Up Day T-shirt.
There is also a special BBQ after clean up featuring food from Blue Onion Cafe and Catering, live music compliments of Fearless Chicken and raffle prizes for all volunteers. The BBQ will be at North Tahoe Beach across the street from Safeway in Tahoe Vista.

This is a great community event and if you have other plans take to the spirit of the day by picking up a few pieces of trash, whether off the beach in front of Tonopalo or wherever you end up this Saturday!

BOATING It is finally starting to warm up, but the lake is still quiet so get out there and enjoy it! Call the front desk to book the Tonopalo Formula or some Jetskis if you really want to get adventurous.

KAYAKING With clear skies and calm weather expected why not get out on the lake for a paddle? Grab a kayak on the Tonopalo beach and explore the nearby shoreline in the afternoon or be the early riser and paddle over to Kings Beach for coffee and a breakfast bagel at Java Hut (it is about a 1.5 mile paddle each way).

TONOPALO REAL ESTATE Home #8 is now priced at $325,000. This is a steal for this home! 2300 square feet with 3 bedrooms and a den! Visit http://www.tonopalosales.com/ for more information on available shares.

Do you use Facebook? Come join the group Tonopalo to view and post pictures, tell everyone about your great stay, and keep up with other owners and staff (past and present). Visit the Tonopalo Facebook Group now.

That's it for now. Pass this page on to your friends and bookmark it for yourself! Thanks for reading and please call if there is anything I can help you with.
